As all women who mountain bike are well aware, a solid all girls ride is hard to come by. We’re clearly accustomed to riding with the guys, pretend we can’t hear the locker room talk (it can be sometimes successfully halted with an “ahem”, by the way), and actually benefit from these rides by becoming extremely fast. Most of the time the rides are fun, however, when it comes down to it, I love to ride with hard core female riders. There is something so refreshing about just chick chatting all the way up the climbs, stopping to frolic in the flowers, and waiting for each other intuitively. Riding with Ruthie Mathis in Sedona was a real treat; although we never had the girl only ride, it was so fun to ride with one of the best of all time. Because Ruthie is a girl at heart, and such an amazing person as well.
This morning, my friend and neighbor Brooke Warner and I headed out for a morning spin. It was such a beautiful morning, cool enough, and a great way to start a week with female energy. We pedaled up the road from our ‘hood to Lower Sam Merrill, cut over Echo Mountain trail and headed down the singletrack and Chaney trail back home. It was a perfectly beautiful ride, and it was so good to get the girls ride in the books.

Thanks Brooke for a great ride!
